NEW RULING FOR 2 yr old RACES

After extensive consultation with owners trainer’s and promoters and also taking into account the welfare of two year olds in training the BHRC directors have now finalised the restructuring of the stakes programme for these horses.

The following dates also had to take account of changes to the racing calendar and historical dates for certain fixtures.

We have tried where possible to work with IHRA and have added a slight change to the qualifying standards which now means, a two year old once qualified is eligible for ALL stakes races.

QUALIFYING – All two year olds must complete 2 qualifying races (passports signed both times) or 1 qualifying race and 1 betting race.
After completing the above the two year old is eligible to compete in all stakes races.

The BHRC directors also strongly advise all race framers that, apart from qualifying race’s NO two year olds should race against older horses before the 1st September.
