Upon recommendation from the insurance company, and in light of the settlement of the recent landmarkinsurance claim, the BHRC are having to make track insurance (with them) compulsory for all tracks this year. This is to avoid any mis-understanding between what we think the track covers in their policy and what the tracks think the BHRC covers in their policy. Having one company cover all risk also reduces any arguments over liability in the unfortunate event of a claim. This is not something we wanted to do, however having had the risks clearly explained to us, the Board feels the risk of not doing so is too high, and could in a worst case scenario jeopardise the very future of the sport we all work so hard for.
