At the end of each year, STAGBI acknowledges successful breeders via the Breeders Premium Awards. Traditionally these are awarded to the Breeders of British & Irish Bred horses (i.e. horses conceived and born in GB or Ireland) and are based on races won. Premiums are divided into the regions – England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. From 2016, and as IHRA have chosen to become independent of STAGBI, the premiums will be divided into the regions – England, Scotland and Wales – and as formerly are only awarded to current STAGBI members.

The Brightwells Premiums are awarded to the British Breeders of horses that have been sold via Brightwells Annual Standardbred Sales at Builth Wells. STAGBI would like to thank Brightwells for their continued contribution.
