The first race was won by Martin Gallagher’s True Matter, trained by Gregor Paterson driven by Hugh Menzies. They lead pillar to post to win by 3/4 l from Call Me Daniel in a time of 2.08.62. The second race saw David Morton’s Springhill Bilzer, partnered by Will Greenhorn driven in a similar fashion to the first winner when he made every post the winning post. Winning by a nose to fast finishing Littlemill joe in a time of 2.09.00.

The third race on the opening meeting card was the grade 1&2 class pace, this Saw William Greenhorn get a quick fire double when he steered SHRC owner of the year Anne Paterson’s Daylon Vacation, trained by Gregor Paterson, to win by 3/4L from stablemate Jennifer Camden in a time of 2.07.93.

Race 4 the grade 2&3 pace was won by Hamish Muirhead’s ATM, giving Hugh Menzies a double on the card, they won by ½ L from stablemate Stashthecash in a time of 2.7.84. The final race saw Steven gilvears’s Northern Pride, driven by Gordon Gilvear, they won by ½ L after having a ding dong battle with second placed Blackfield Bird in a time of 2.5.78.
