OBITUARY – LORD LANGFORD OBE
It is with great sadness that the BHRC report the passing of Lord Langford on 12th November 2017.
A long standing patron of the sport of Harness Racing and the BHRC, Lord Langford was heavily involved in the establishing of a national governing body in the British Harness Racing Club and the creation of its constitution, rules and regulations.
Moreover, Lord Langford served in the army during Word War II during which he was captured in 1942 but managed to escape and see out further active service. In 1943 he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Lord Langford retired from the regular army on 31st December 1957.He was appointed an Honorary Colonel in 1967.
