LEADING BRITISH STUD TO SPONSOR BHRC MARQUEE 2 YEAR OLD EVENT
Tir Prince Raceway are delighted to announce that The Rhyds Stud will be sponsoring the BHRC 2YO Futurity in 2016. Following the recent announcement that subject to sufficient entries the race will be split into separate divisions for colts/geldings and fillies this sponsorship is a further boost for what is traditionally the BHRC marquee race for juveniles.
The Rhyds Stud requires no introduction, based in North Wales and owned by John and Grethe Wright they have been at the forefront of breeding in the UK for over a decade. It is the home of leading UK sire Hasty Hall who has produced Rhyds Fivestar a previous winner of the Futurity along with countless other juvenile champions and Classic winners. Hasty Hall has been and continues to be a breeding phenomenon in the UK and it would be a fairly safe bet to say that he will be well represented in this year’s futurity.
The Stud also had the top priced yearling at the Buith Wells sale with Rhyds Ideal fetching a huge £48000, whilst they have also invested in a new stallion with See and Ski being purchased privately. A Somebeachsomewhere brother to Well Said with a 1.50.2 record he promises to leave quality in his progeny and with the mares at Rhyds he will be given every opportunity. Talking of mares it would be wrong not to mention two of the foundation mares at the stud in Tonda Star and CPR. Tonda Star has produced a BHRC Futurity winner in Stars Dragon and multiple BHRC Derby winners with Rhyds Hallstar and the aforementioned Stars Dragon and Rhyds Fivestar whilst CPR has produced amongst others Rhyds Diamond, Rhyds Desire, Rhyds Destiny and Rhyds Topaz all of whom have won a plethora of stakes races and classics between them. A more recent acquisition is Kentucky Sunshine who herself has already left Appleby winner Rhyds Yankee, the brilliant Rhyds Rainbow and the promising Rhyds Snowbird.
Tir Prince and the BHRC would like to thank John and Grethe for their support in sponsoring the BHRC Futurity and we are proud to be associated with the Rhyds Stud.
Nominations for the Rhyds Stud BHRC 2 Year Old Futurity close on 1st March 2016.
