WALES AND WEST PACING SERIES 2016 – sponsored once again by Wellfield Stud.
Wales and West HRA are proud to announce that it will once again be running a pacing series within the region. After the success of last years series Members were in unanimous agreement to continue with the initiative. We have made a few small changes, for full details please see below:

1. The Series will be open to horses registered to run under BHRC in Grades 1 – 6.
2. The series will be based on 30 horses entering. If less than 30 horses enter by the first leg of the series, entries will be taken from any eligible horse during the season, all horses will pay the full Series fee.
3. Based on 30 horses there will be 15 races hosted throughout the season. If less horses are entered, the number of races will be amended as follows – 1 race per 2 horses.
4. The total purse per race will be £600 (1st £400, 2nd £100, 3rd £60, 4th £40) based on an entry of 10 horse entering. If less than 10 horses enter a race, £25 entry fee per horse will be deducted from the purse and prize money will be as follows –
9 horses – 1st £390 2nd £95 3rd £55 4th £35
8 horses – 1st £380 2nd £90 3rd £50 4th £30
7 Horses – 1st £375 2nd 80 3rd £45 4th £25
6 Horses – £370 2nd 70 3rd £40 4th £20
5. Series fees will be £100 per horse.
6. Entry fee for each race will be £25
7. A maximum of 2 horses per owner.
8. All horse entering the series on £0
9. Entry into the first two races will be by ballot (maximum of 10 horses per race). Any horse balloted out will be guaranteed a run in the next race of the series.
10. All subsequent races will be framed according to monies won in the series – the highest money earners will take the highest gate draw. Horses with the same earnings will ballot for position.
11. All races to be run as Open Preferred Handicaps (OPH)
12. Race distances will vary, at the discretion of the promotor, to be advertised in advance.
13. Monies won will be carried to the horses national handicap mark.
14. The series will be run at Wales and West HRA tracks.
15. All owners of horses entered in the series must be a Wales and West Member (£15)
16. The series will be administrated by the Wales and West HRA. If a race meeting is cancelled we will look to reschedule to another fixture.
